Student School Meal Debt
We Need Your Support!
Students’ meal debt in Loudoun County is at an all-time high, now totaling more than $100,000 across the district. You can help these families forgive that debt by providing a tax-deductible donation to the Loudoun Education Foundation.
Meal debt is incurred only by students in families that do not qualify for the federal Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program. But many families’ incomes fall just above the federal requirement, yet they still cannot afford school meals.
Cafeteria team members do not address students who are short on funds to cover the cost of their breakfast or lunch. Instead, the students are provided meals, and families who have unpaid meal debt receive weekly email reminders of funds owed.
You Can Help!
Through your generosity, we can help the most vulnerable wipe off these debts.
