Teacher Grants - Fall 2005
The Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in teacher grants during the past ten years.

In Fall 2005, the Foundation awarded mini-grants totaling $14,510 to 26 projects. Awards ranged from $350. to $2,700.

The Mini-Grant Program awards grants to projects that are innovative, involve many students and benefit diverse student groups, enhance the standard curriculum, have measurable results, and promote inter-classroom and interdisciplinary teaching.

Teachers, librarians, and other classroom specialists in LCPS submitted forty-seven applications to the Foundation's Fall 2005 Mini-Grant Program. A grant review panel, comprised of Foundation Trustees Fred Flemming, Paul Lin, Rebecca Ottinger, and Elizabeth Whiting met in November. Ginger Kave, LCPS Teacher Mentor Specialist, and Joan Rackham, Foundation Executive Director, supported the panel.

Twelve projects are in nine elementary schools.

Five projects are in four middle or intermediate schools.

Eight projects are in four high schools or technical schools.

One SPECTRUM project is in all schools with eighth grades
